Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has welcomed the agreement reached between Israel and Hamas to implement the first phase of the “Middle East Peace Plan” proposed by the President of the United States.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for the immediate release of all hostages, including Nepali national Bipin Joshi, who has been held by Hamas since October 7, 2023.

Nepal also urged all concerned parties to implement the peace plan in its true spirit, ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and work toward lasting peace in the region and beyond.

The statement further commended the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye for their key roles in brokering the agreement.
