Nepal Wins 26 Medals at Asian Taekwondo Invitational in China

Kathmandu: Nepali taekwondo players secured a total of 26 medals, including four gold, seven silver, and 15 bronze, at the Asian Taekwondo Invitational Tournament and the 10th Mansan Taekwondo Open Championship held in Nanjing, China, on January 4.

The medals were won across the Gyorugi, Poomsae, and Speed Kick categories, reflecting strong performances by the Nepali contingent in multiple disciplines.

Jolina Basnet, Hridayani Basnet, Kairab Prasad Lohani and Gita Bista claimed gold medals for Nepal. The silver medals were won by Ashraya Upadhyay, Sakshyam Shrestha, Aayam Poudel, Meghani Ghatani, Jigme Tenzing Sherpa, Deepak Dulal and Ranjita Bhusal.

Similarly, Abin Jung KC, Aaravi Gyawali, Yatna Timsina, Inaya Maharjan, Maira Karki, Shreyan Karki, Yuzen Tamang, Sohan Pathak, Angel Rai, Joseph Gurung, Yonden Tamang, Yubsang Tamang, Rinjen Aakyangmi Thami, Riyansh Basnet and Jamyang Tenzing Sherpa secured bronze medals in the championship.

Players from Little Bud School, Gongabu Dojang and Daffodil Public School represented Nepal in the tournament. Saroj Tamang and Bikesh Bidari served as team instructors.
