Nepal Women’s National Football Team Departs for Indonesia for Tri-Nation Tournament

Kathmandu: The Nepal Women’s National Football Team was bade farewell today as the team is leaving for Indonesia to participate in the first Tri-Nation International Women’s Football Tournament on November 23.

General-Secretary of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Kiran Rai, extended best wishes to the 22-member team led by Captain Anjila Subba. The tournament, scheduled from November 26 to December 2, will see Nepal compete against Indonesia and Chinese Taipei.

Sabitra Bhandari (Sambha) and Sabita Rana Magar will not be participating due to injuries.

General-Secretary Rai highlighted the recent progress in women’s football, stating, “We adopted a club-based structure to advance women’s football. As a result, we have 10 teams. Some recent international matches have shown that we can achieve excellent results.”
