Kathmandu: As Tokyo prepares to host the 25th Summer Deaflympics from November 15, 2025, marking the centennial edition of the games, Nepali Deaf Judo athletes Lucky Chaudhary and Sushma Tamang are training intensively to represent Nepal on the global stage.
The athletes recently paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Maeda Toru of Japan and Bablu Gupta, Nepal’s Minister of Youth and Sports, who extended their best wishes and words of encouragement.
Adding to the spirit of friendship and sportsmanship, Embassy staff members Sato and Muramatsu, both black belt Judo practitioners, joined the athletes during their training sessions to exchange techniques and show support.
The event reflects how sports continue to foster friendship, understanding, and unity between peoples and nations.
