Kathmandu: Nepali filmmaker Min Bahadur Bham has been selected as a jury member for the world-renowned Berlin Film Festival, becoming the first Nepali director to hold this prestigious position.
The festival announced the appointment on its official website. The 2026 international jury panel will be chaired by Germany’s acclaimed director Wim Wenders. Alongside Bham, the panel includes Bay Duna from South Korea, Shivendra Singh Dungarpur from India, Reinaldo Marcus Green from the USA, Hikari from Japan, and Ewa Puszczynska from Poland.
Bham gained international recognition when his film Shambala competed in the main category at last year’s Berlin Film Festival. His inclusion on the jury highlights Nepal’s growing presence in global cinema.
