KATHMANDU: Nepali embassies across the globe marked the 18th Republic Day of Nepal with formal ceremonies, flag hoisting, and special programs reflecting national pride and unity among the diaspora.
In Bangladesh, the Embassy of Nepal organized a formal event on its premises, extending warm greetings and best wishes to all Nepali nationals living in the country.
In India, the Embassy in New Delhi celebrated with a flag hoisting ceremony, a Diwali-themed event, and discussions highlighting the significance of the Republic. The program concluded with refreshments for guests.
In China, the Embassy in Beijing held a special ceremony attended by embassy staff, their families, a visiting Nepali delegation led by the Mayor of Damak Municipality, and members of the Nepali community residing in Beijing.
The Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, also observed Republic Day with a formal gathering, commemorating the spirit of the Nepali Republic.
In Saudi Arabia, the Nepali Embassy celebrated the day with a themed program focusing on “Republic Nepal and Responsibility of a Citizen.” The event included a discussion session and a dinner party for attendees.
Meanwhile, the Embassy in Malaysia observed what it noted as the 17th Republic Day, with Ambassador Dr. Nirmal Kumar Thapa hoisting the national flag and addressing the gathering. A special evening celebration was scheduled at the ambassador’s residence and embassy premises, featuring lamp lighting and participation by diplomatic staff.
