Lisbon (Portugal): The Embassy of Nepal in Portugal has urged Nepalis in Nepal and the Middle East to remain cautious against fraudulent schemes promising work visas to Portugal.
In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, the Embassy clarified that the Portuguese government has suspended the issuance of all types of work visas, except for highly skilled professions, effective from October 23, 2025.
Amid reports of Nepalis being deceived with false promises of employment in Portugal, the Embassy warned individuals and agencies not to engage in such illegal activities.
The statement emphasized that no one can currently enter Portugal on a regular work visa and called on all concerned authorities and individuals to exercise vigilance and avoid falling victim to scams.
