Nepali Flag Hoisted at Bowling Green Park in New York City

Kathmandu: The Nepali flag was hoisted at Bowling Green Park near Wall Street, in front of the World Trade Center, in honor of the Nepali community in New York City. The event was jointly organized by the New York City Mayor’s Office and the Bowling Green Park Association.

Representatives from the Consulate General of Nepal and members of the Nepali community attended the ceremony. The Nepali flag, placed alongside the American flag, will remain flying in the city’s iconic financial district for the next few weeks.

Speaking on behalf of the Mayor’s Office, South Asian Liaison Officer Sookranie Dhanpat highlighted the Nepali community’s contribution to New York’s multicultural fabric. “This flag is as unique as its people. It represents bravery, peace, and the enduring spirit of Nepal,” she said.

Nepal’s Consul General in New York, Dadhiram Bhandari, thanked Mayor Eric Adams and his administration for recognizing Nepali Americans’ contributions. “Events like this bring our hearts and people together. We look forward to a deeper friendship between our two nations,” he remarked.
