Kathmandu: Fourteen Nepali leaders, as participants of Young South Asian Leaders Initiative (YSALI) of the US Department of State, connected with American innovators, universities, and businesses to explore entrepreneurship and economic growth. They joined emerging leaders from across South Asia for U.S.-based workshops on entrepreneurship, innovation, and American excellence. Through discussions, site visits, and exchanges with U.S. entrepreneurs, policymakers, universities, and industry leaders, they explored how private sector leadership, research, and technology strengthen economies and global competitiveness.
At the U.S. Department of State, the group met with Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers to learn more about how innovation and entrepreneurship drive economic growth and create opportunity. They also visited leading U.S. companies and innovation hubs, gaining practical ideas and professional connections to support entrepreneurship and innovation in Nepal.
These ties can create new opportunities for U.S. companies and universities, expand trade and investment, and encourage technology collaboration that benefits Nepal and the United States. YSALI connects alumni of U.S. government programs from seven South Asian countries to strengthen leadership, expand regional cooperation, and advance practical solutions to shared priorities.
