London: The Nepali poetry tour has successfully concluded in Cambridge, UK. Writers from both London and Cambridge convened for a special gathering at the historic “Parker’s Piece,” facilitated by the Contemporary Literature Foundation of Britain.
During this event, poets Krishna Upadhyay, Poshendra Satyal, Lata Gautam, Yograj Dhakal, Keshav Pudasaini, Chandramani Gautam, and Krishna Bajgain took to the stage to present their works.
It marks the third edition of the Kavya Yatra (poetry tour), an initiative designed to unite Nepalis in the UK with the rich language, culture, and literature of their homeland, while also promoting Nepali literature on a global scale through poetry.
Krishna Bajgain, the President of the Foundation, stated that the Kavya Yatra will be visiting various cities throughout the UK, and a compilation of the poems recited during the tour will be published in book form. He underscored that regardless of our location in the world, it is our shared responsibility to nurture and elevate the Nepali language and literature.
