Kathmandu: H. E. Bharat Paudyal, Ambassador of Nepal to Canada, participated in various programs organized by Nepali diaspora in Canada. He attended the event “Investment in Nepal, Role of Diaspora, and Community Journalism,” jointly organized by NEAJA, NRNA Canada and FCNCC in Georgetown, Ontario. In the event, he highlighted Nepal’s investment policies, procedures and incentives available to the diaspora, and underscored the role of community media in informing, connecting and engaging the diaspora with emerging trade, investment and economic opportunities in Nepal.
Likewise, he also inaugurated the 10th NCCC Cup Cricket Tournament in Brampton. The tournament brought together cricket clubs from the Nepali diaspora across Canada. He commended NCCC for sustaining the match and promoting constructive spirit of sportsmanship. In his remarks, he highlighted Nepal’s investment policies, procedures and incentives available to the diaspora, and underscored the role of community media in informing, connecting and engaging the diaspora with emerging trade, investment and economic opportunities in Nepal.
Continuing with his engagement, he inaugurated the 18th Himalayan Mela in Toronto as the Chief Guest over the weekend. He commended the Nepali diaspora for their sustained efforts to preserve and promote Nepal’s rich culture and heritage within Canada’s multicultural fabric.
He called upon the Nepali diaspora to help promote Nepal’s trade, tourism, and investment opportunities and further strengthen Nepal-Canada economic ties. The Mela showcased Nepal’s cultural diversity, costumes, cuisines, performances, and community spirit.
He visited Himalayan Grocers, another pioneering enterprise that has, for many years, been serving the growing demand for authentic Nepali products among the Nepali diaspora, the South Asian community and an increasingly diverse Canadian consumers from Toronto.
