Kathmandu: The Embassy of Finland in Nepal marked Nordic Day, celebrating Nordic cooperation and shared values such as democracy, equality, human rights, and the rule of law.
The day commemorates the Helsinki Treaty of 1962, which established one of the world’s oldest regional cooperation frameworks among Nordic countries.
In Nepal, the Embassy of Finland works closely with the Embassy of Norway in Nepal and Nordic honorary consuls of Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden on areas including good governance, climate change, gender equality, and cultural exchange.
The two embassies are also collaborating on education and initiatives such as the Renewable Energy for Resilient Agri-Food Systems (RERAS) project.
Officials highlighted that Nordic cooperation continues to promote sustainable development, resilience, and strong international partnerships in Nepal.
