Norway Supports Emergency Care Training in Nepal with Laerdal Equipment

Kathmandu: The Ambassador of Norway to Nepal, Dagny Mjøs, joined Minister for Health and Population Sudha Sharma Gautam and national health leaders at a ceremony marking the handover of emergency care training equipment from Laerdal Global Health to Nepal’s national and provincial training institutions.

The equipment includes nine portable Emergency Care Learning Lab kits and two Advanced Life Support (ALS) baby mannequins, aimed at providing frontline health workers with practical training in basic emergency care across all seven provinces.

Referring to the baby mannequin, Minister Gautam, drawing on her experience as an obstetrician-gynecologist, said she had personally used the mannequin and attested to its effectiveness.

Additionally, Ambassador Mjøs, in her remarks, emphasized the importance of private-sector engagement in strengthening health systems, describing Laerdal as a role model for meaningful private-sector contribution.
