Kathmandu: Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, visited Lumbini and Bharatpur from November 30 to December 2.
At Lumbini, he paid respects at the Birthplace of Lord Bhudha. He held meetings with the Lumbini Development Board and the officiating Mayor of Lumbini. The meetings were focused on fostering heritage linkages, cultural and civic relations between Pakistan and Nepal.
At Bharatpur, the Ambassador handed over a cheque to support the paperless digitization of Bharatpur Eye Hospital (BEH) as a gift from the People of Pakistan. The support aims to assist BEH to upgrade its infrastructure and efficiency through Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and fully digitize administrative and clinical processes.

Ambassador Hashmi noted that Pakistan has a proud history of collaboration with the hospital contributing to its development and capacity building over the years since it was built with the financial help of the BCCI Foundation of Pakistan in 1987. In recent years, Pakistan Embassy added pharmacy, OTs, outreach Ambulance and exchanges in the field of eye care and medical cooperation.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Ambassador highlighted that healthcare cooperation remains an important pillar of Pakistan-Nepal relations and such initiatives reflect the shared commitment of the two countries toward people-centric development and regional well-being.
Chairman of BEH Management Board Jayram Shrestha and Chief Medical Officer Dr Pushpa Giri expressed their deep appreciation for the People of Pakistan for their continued support and contribution to the modernization of healthcare services in Nepal.

The Embassy hosted a dinner at Bharatpur Garden Hotel, which was graced by BEH Management, faculty, District Administration, civic and business leaders and Nepalese Alumni of Pakistani institutions.
Ambassador Hashmi also visited College of Medical Sciences, Chitwan, which imparts quality TVET in medical care and interacted with the faculty and students.
