Kathmandu: The visiting parliamentary delegation from Pakistan called on Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Devraj Ghimire, on Wednesday, August 20.
The delegation arrived in Nepal to take part in the two-day Hindu Kush Himalayan Region Parliamentarians’ Meet-2025, which concluded in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Welcoming the Pakistani MPs’ delegation led by Munaza Hassan to his office at Singha Durbar, the Speaker highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries and the potential for strengthened regional cooperation in areas such as climate change, sustainable development, and addressing climate change–induced challenges to mountain life.
He emphasized the need to recognize such issues as a shared regional agenda and to respond to them collectively. The Speaker also underlined the prospects for enhanced trade, connectivity, and tourism between the two countries, adding that parliamentary cooperation could be directed toward these goals.
The delegation leader congratulated Nepal on successfully hosting the Meet, commending the country’s role in mitigating the impacts of climate change and conserving mountain ecosystems.
