Plan International Australia Deputy CEO Cull Joins Acting Country Director of Plan International Nepal Gurung to See Flood Response

Kathmandu: Deputy CEO of Plan International Australia, Hayley Cull, and Dylan Jones-Virma, Head of Development of DFAT ( Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade), joined Srijana Gurung, Acting Country Director of Plan International Nepal, and Krishna Prasad Neupane, Deputy Director of DEPROSC ( Development Project Service Center) Nepal, to see the flood response first-hand.

The team visited the Kali River water scheme and met the Water Users Committee where around 200 households reaching approximately 900 people are being supported with access to water.

At the Annapurna Holding Centre, the team saw child-friendly spaces, separate sleeping areas for girls and boys, temporary toilets and bathing facilities, kitchen facilities, and relief items.  The team observed temporary learning materials for Grades 1–3, helping children continue learning while communities recover.

Every visit is a reminder that recovery is not just about rebuilding what was lost. It is about helping children, girls, and families feel safe, supported, and ready for what comes next.
