PM Oli to Depart for Turkmenistan to Attend UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries

Kathmandu: Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli will leave for Turkmenistan today, on August 3, leading the Nepali delegation to the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), scheduled to take place in Awaza from August 5 to 8.

According to the Foreign Ministry, PM Oli is participating in the high-level conference at the invitation of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and UN Secretary-General António Guterres. During the four-day event, he will deliver a national statement and address the gathering as Chair of the Global Coordination Bureau of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

The Prime Minister is also set to co-chair a high-level roundtable session and take part in several other official meetings and side events. He is expected to engage in bilateral discussions with heads of delegations and senior UN and international officials on the sidelines of the conference.

Accompanying PM Oli on the visit are his spouse Radhika Shakya, Chief Adviser Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Member of Parliament Surya Bahadur Thapa Kshetree, and other senior government officials.

PM Oli is scheduled to return home on August 8.
