Kathmandu: Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli held a cordial meeting with the President of Laos, Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China.
According to a release issued by the MoFA of Nepal, the two leaders exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the fields of culture, agriculture, and people-to-people relations during the meeting. They also discussed ways to advance the shared interests of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) in global forums.
Prime Minister Oli noted that Nepal and Laos, as friendly nations with common challenges, can work together to amplify their voices on international platforms. Both leaders expressed their commitment to fostering stronger bilateral ties and collaborating on issues of mutual concern.
PM Oli is currently in Tianjin leading the Nepali delegation to the SCO Summit at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
