Kathmandu: The Premier of New South Wales, Australia Hon. Christopher John Minns, called on the Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal, in Sydney on October 8.
Offering condolences over the loss of lives in the recent disaster in Nepal, Premier Minns conveyed the readiness of the Government of New South Wales to assist in Nepal’s recovery efforts.
Minister Khanal expressed his sincere gratitude to the people of New South Wales, including the Nepali diaspora, for their sympathy, solidarity and generous support following the devastating floods. He also assured the Premier that locating the missing Australian nationals remains a top priority for the Government of Nepal.
The Minister and the Premier exchanged views on opportunities for cooperation in areas including trade, energy, mining, infrastructure, and technical and vocational education and training (TVET), as well as collaboration among higher education institutions in Nepal and New South Wales.
