Kathmandu: Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and devastation caused by the flash floods and mudslides in northern Nepal near the Tibet border.
The President conveyed Pakistan’s sympathies to the bereaved families and solidarity with the people and Government of Nepal. He prayed for the recovery of those injured and the safe return of those still missing.
Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, said to be deeply saddened by the tragic flash floods and landslides in China and Nepal, which have claimed precious lives and left many still missing.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Chinese and Nepali citizens in this hour of grief and offers all possible support and assistance in the wake of this profound tragedy.
He said, “We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and salute the courage of the rescue teams working tirelessly under difficult conditions.”
