Kathmandu: Amb. Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, President of International Relations and Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD), received the President of the National Allo Entrepreneurs Association Nepal, Ganesh Aidi, at the office of IRGDD on January 25.
During the meeting, they discussed Nepal’s natural fibre industrialization which has underscored the country’s strong potential to develop a sustainable textile industry based on indigenous resources such as Allo (Himalayan Nettle).
The discussion recognized natural fibres—particularly Allo—as a shared regional resource found across Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan, India, and the Tibet region of China. Participants emphasized that regional cooperation and knowledge-sharing could play a key role in scaling up natural fibre-based industries while ensuring sustainability and local livelihoods.
