Kathmandu: Mohamed Muizzu, President of Maldives, extended his warm congratulations on the behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives to Balendra Shah following his inauguration as the Prime Minister of Nepal.
In the letter addressed to PM Shah, President Muizzu highlighted the large-scale participation of youth and the calls for reform that characterized the lead-up to the successful conduct of the general election. He noted that the election marked a significant turning point in Nepal’s democratic journey, ushering in a new chapter of stability and development in line with the aspirations of the Nepalese people.
Reaffirming Nepal as a valued bilateral partner, the President emphasised that both countries are united by shared goals and common approaches to the challenges faced by South Asian nations. He expressed eagerness to work closely with the Government of Nepal to further strengthen bilateral ties and enhance cooperation within the region and in other international fora.
President Muizzu concluded his letter by extending best wishes for the Prime Minister’s good health and well-being, and for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the friendly people of Nepal.
