Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel landed in Japan early this morning, on February 2, on an official visit after departing from Kathmandu last night.
He was welcomed at Narita International Airport by the Chief of Protocol of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Toru Maeda, and Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Nepal in Japan, Harihar Kant Poudel.
President Paudel is leading a Nepali delegation on the visit at the invitation of the Japanese government, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan. During the visit, he will attend an anniversary function to be organized by the Japanese government, according to the President’s Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel.
The Head of State is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the Tokyo Imperial Palace. He will attend a meeting organized by the Japanese business community and participate in a reception to be hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Japan.
President Paudel is accompanied by his spouse Sabita Paudel, high-level government officials, and officials from the President’s Office. He is scheduled to return home on February 4.
