Qatar, Nepal Discuss Enhanced Investment and Business Cooperation

Kathmandu: Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, Board Member of Qatar Chamber, held a meeting with Chandra Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), to explore ways of cooperation and investment between Qatar and Nepal.

The discussion emphasized the activation of the Qatari-Nepali Joint Business Council.

During the meeting, the Qatar Chamber underlined the vast potential for collaboration between the private sectors of both countries, particularly in economic and commercial fields, reflecting the strong bilateral relations, reports Qatar News Agency.

Al Obaidli highlighted Nepal as an important destination for Qatari investors, pointing to its population density and promising investment prospects. He further noted that Qatar has emerged as a major hub for business and investment, with a growing focus on sectors such as banking, digitalization, and trade. He also reiterated Qatar’s broader interest in expanding investments across Asian markets.

FNCCI President Chandra Dhakal praised Qatar’s progress in infrastructure development and economic achievements, noting that numerous investment opportunities are available in Nepal to Qatari investors, particularly in the tourism, mining, and services sectors.

Additionally, Dhakal emphasized that Nepal offers numerous investment incentives to foreign investors, urging Qatari business owners to explore these opportunities and foster cooperation with their Nepalese counterparts.

Further highlighted the importance of strengthening the role of the Qatari-Nepali Business Council to facilitate more joint meetings between business leaders, foster partnerships, and deepen economic cooperation.
