Rato Machhindranath Reinstalled in Bungmati Temple 10 Years After Gorkha Earthquake

Lalitpur, June 1, 2025: 10 years after the Gorkha earthquake, Rato Machhindranath has been installed inside the temple. The reconstruction work of the Rato Machhindranath (Bungadyo) temple in Bungmati, which was completely damaged by the 2072 BS earthquake, has reached the final stage.

Today, after the Bhoto Jatra of Rato Machhindranath, Bungmati was brought from Jawalakhel and Machhindranath was installed inside the temple.

Earlier, the deity was temporarily kept in a place built behind the temple. As the idol of Rato Machhindranath was taken from Jawalakhel on a khat, devotees sat on the roadside burning incense and incense.

The idol of Rato Machhindranath was brought into the temple along with musical instruments and was installed.
