Kathmandu: On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Russia, Anastasia Khokhlova, the counselor of the Russian Embassy in Nepal and the director of the Russian House in Kathmandu, held a courtesy meeting with Dhanraj Acharya, the head of Pokhara Metropolitan City.
In the meeting held in Pokhara, discussion focused on further expansion of bilateral interests and cooperation by maintaining sisterly relations between the cities of Pokhara and Russia. In the meeting, the possibility of cooperation in the fields of tourism, information technology, local production and cultural exchange was discussed.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on promoting Pokhara’s tourism, bringing local products to the international market, exchanging knowledge and experience in the field of information technology, and expanding cultural relations between the cities of both countries.
Acharya, the head of the metropolis, said that long-term cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture, technology and local production can be promoted by establishing sisterly relations between Pokhara and Russian cities. He has expressed his belief that such cooperation will further strengthen the relationship between the local levels of the two countries and also contribute to the expansion of people-to-people relations.
The meeting held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Russia is seen as an important opportunity to expand the relations between the two countries to the local level.
