Kathmandu: Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid, Director of the SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC), participated as a distinguished speaker in a policy dialogue titled “Different Aspects of the National Agricultural Policy and the Challenges and Way Forward for Implementing the Agri-Food System.”
The event, jointly organized by Agroecological Coalition Bangladesh, PKSF, Welt Hunger Hilfe, and Bonik Barta, was attended by Dr. Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian, Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest.
In his remarks, Dr. Rashid emphasized the importance of agroecological practices for sustainable and resilient agri-food systems in the region. He shared insights on successful approaches adopted across SAARC Member States and highlighted opportunities to replicate best practices from neighboring countries to strengthen regional food security and sustainability.
