South Korean Ambassador Park Meets Minister Khadka to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Kathmandu: The Ambassador of South Korea to Nepal, Park Tae Young, met with the Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka.

According to the minister’s secretariat, the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Preparations for the upcoming Global Infrastructure Corporation Conference (GICC) 2025, scheduled to take place in Korea from September 16 to 18, were also discussed.

Ambassador Young informed Minister Khadka that participation from 35 countries has already been confirmed for the conference. He expressed confidence that Nepal could make effective use of the platform to showcase its energy projects at the international level.

The two sides also reviewed ongoing cooperation projects between Nepal and Korea, including the Upper Trishuli Hydropower Project and the Transmission Line Project, supported through Korean assistance.

Minister Khadka extended his gratitude to the Korean government for its continued investment and support in Nepal’s energy sector. He reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to advancing cooperation in transmission lines and other energy infrastructure projects. Moreover, he further expressed optimism that the collaboration would help attract greater volumes of Korean investment in the fields of energy, water resources, and irrigation.
