Kathmandu: The Foreign Minister of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Daniel Giovanni Cassis, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen the long-standing friendship between Nepal and Switzerland, with a focus on continued cooperation in development.
Minister Cassis reaffirmed Switzerland’s commitment to supporting Nepal in areas such as development, federalism, transitional justice, climate change, and disaster risk management.
Prime Minister Oli expressed appreciation for Switzerland’s continued assistance and noted that despite a history of political instability, Nepal is now progressing toward development and good governance through cooperation between major political parties. He emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening democracy and improving the lives of the people.
Swiss Ambassador to Nepal Dr. Daniel Meuli, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other dignitaries were also present at the meeting.
