Thopla, A Social Networking Platform to Keep Nepalis Connected, Launched

Kathmandu: A new Nepali social networking platform, Thopla, meaning “dot,” has been launched with the aim of connecting Nepali communities around the world through a single digital platform. The platform was officially launched on August 3.

According to the Thopla team, it has been developed with a focus on Nepali communities, culture, creativity, entertainment and collaboration.

Thopla aims to connect Nepalis around the world, provide a space for them to share their ideas and talents, and help them stay connected with their communities. The platform offers features including free audio and video calls, posts, video and reel sharing, competitions and tournaments using custom hashtags, transparent voting systems, digital coin gifting and wallet services.

In cases of natural disasters or other emergencies, users can also use the “I’m Safe” feature to immediately inform their family members and communities about their status.

According to the Thopla team, the platform will be expanded in the coming days to include business promotion, local event promotion, community services, creator support and other innovative digital services.

The team has encouraged Nepalis around the world to join Thopla and use the platform to share their experiences, culture, creations and talents while strengthening connections within the Nepali community.
