Kathmandu: Scott Urbom, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy Nepal, attended the seventh and final provincial Code for Impact Tech Hackathon in Kathmandu. The program, supported by the Embassy and led by Aadyanta Advisory with AmCham Nepal, brought together nearly 175 young innovators from six provinces and Kathmandu.
At the finale, Urbom watched teams present technology-based solutions to local challenges in Nepal. Two teams from the Kathmandu round advanced as national semifinalists, joining 14 teams nationwide who will receive mentorship from U.S. companies and AmCham Nepal members.
Organizers said the Code for Impact program promotes youth employment, ethical technology development, and private sector growth in areas such as agriculture and health. It also aims to strengthen U.S.–Nepal commercial ties by linking local innovators with U.S. firms and global opportunities.
