Kathmandu: The Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) officially granted pardon to the 111 Nepali National inmates. The Government of Nepal expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to the UAE Government for the gracious royal pardon to the Nepali inmates on the occasion of Eid Al Adha 2026.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they highly value the kind gesture of pardon as the manifestation of deepening friendship and cordiality in the existing bilateral relations between Nepal and the UAE.
The decision of the pardon was taken by the friendly Government of the UAE in response to the requests made by the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi as per the instructions of the Ministry.
The pardoned Nepali nationals, subject to the absence of any other pending legal cases or travel restrictions, will be able to return to Nepal upon completion of the requisite legal and administrative procedures in accordance with the prevailing laws of the United Arab Emirates.
