Kathmandu: Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli inaugurated the 17th NADA Auto Show in Kathmandu, stressing the role of science, innovation, and infrastructure in Nepal’s development. He said new roads, international airports, green energy, and technology are helping the country move forward with confidence.
The main attraction of the event was Nepal’s first flying taxi, the Deepal Flying Taxi, developed in collaboration with Chinese automaker Changan Auto and MAW Vriddhi Autocorp. The electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle drew inspiration from the UAE, which launched its aerial taxi service in Dubai in June 2025.
UAE Ambassador Abdulla Al Shamsi attended the show, highlighting Nepal-UAE friendship and the importance of international cooperation in technology and innovation.
Experts said the event could inspire young innovators and support Nepal’s transition to modern, eco-friendly transport. The NADA Auto Show 2025 reflected Nepal’s growing commitment to technological progress and sustainable mobility.
