Kathmandu: Pippa Bird, the UK Embassy’s Development Director, shared her recent experience of visiting the Bardia National Park. She reflected on how Nepal has made remarkable progress in biodiversity conservation through strong collaboration with partners such as the National Trust for Nature Conservation National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC), Nepal, WWF Nepal and Zoological Society of London (ZSL).
They stated that through this partnership, these organizations have helped to safeguard iconic species like the tiger, as well as critical freshwater biodiversity such as river dolphins, gharials, and otters. The UK remains committed to supporting Nepal’s biodiversity conservation efforts and addressing human–wildlife conflict through the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
