Kathmandu: The President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Lok Bahadur Thapa, held a meeting with Jan Margaret Beagle, Director-General of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), on September 6.
During the meeting, ECOSOC President Thapa praised IDLO’s vital contributions to advancing the rule of law and Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) while reaffirming ECOSOC’s pivotal role in advancing inclusive development, encouraging meaningful dialogue, and restoring trust in multilateral cooperation.
In a social media post, Director-General Jan Beagle said that the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) looks forward to working with President Thapa on preparations for the 2026 High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) and the review of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6, 7, 9, 11, and 17.
“IDLO looks forward to working with him on preparations for the 2026 HLPF and the review of SDGs 6, 7, 9, 11 & 17, and to exploring ways to ‘deliver better’ to advance the 2030 Agenda,” said Director General Beagle.
