Kathmandu: President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Lok Bahadur Thapa, met with Li Junhua, Under-Secretary-General for the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), on October 9.
During the meeting, ECOSOC President Thapa briefed Under-Secretary-General Junhua on his priorities for his presidency under the overarching theme of “Delivering Better”, which includes food security and agricultural development, digital inclusion and youth entrepreneurship, and mitigating glacial lake outburst floods.
“I briefed him on my priorities for my presidency under the overarching theme of ‘Delivering Better’, including food security and agricultural development, digital inclusion and youth entrepreneurship, and mitigating glacial lake outburst floods,” added ECOSOC President Thapa on his social media post.
He also expressed his appreciation for the strong support that DESA provides to the work of the Council.
