Kathmandu: President of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Lok Bahadur Thapa, met Carsten Staur, Chair of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), on the sidelines of the Social Summit 2025 in Doha.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the importance of enhancing development cooperation and investment to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They emphasized the vital role of the OECD DAC in mobilizing and motivating donor support amid current global challenges.
President Thapa expressed appreciation for the OECD DAC’s continued commitment to multilateralism and its close collaboration with the United Nations in advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
