Kathmandu: Representatives from the United Nations, the Government of Nepal, and international partners gathered at the United Nations Conference Hall in Kathmandu to strengthen collaboration in advancing the Digital Nepal Framework.
The meeting brought together Hanna Singer-Hamdy, UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal; Numan Özcan, Country Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Nepal; Jaco du Toit, the UNESCO Representative to Nepal; Radhika Aryal, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology; and members of the International Development Partners Group (IDPG).
With 98 digital initiatives currently underway across nine UN agencies, the joint effort underscores a shared commitment to support Nepal’s leadership in fostering digital inclusion, resilience, and innovation. The initiative aims to ensure that Nepal’s digital transformation contributes to equitable growth and accelerates progress toward the nation’s graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status.
“Digitalisation is more than technology; it is a catalyst for equity, resilience, and empowerment. By working together, we can ensure that Nepal’s digital journey leaves no one behind and prepare Nepal for the upcoming LDC graduation,” stressed UN Resident Coordinator Hanna Singer-Hamdy on her social media posts.
