Kathmandu: Hanaa Singer-Hamdy, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Nepal, paid a farewell call on the Chief of Army Staff of the Nepali Army, General Ashok Raj Sigdel, on January 9.
After meeting General Sigdel at the Nepali Army Headquarters, Hanaa shared that the meeting was a meaningful farewell courtesy call. She is set to leave Nepal after completing her tenure.
UN Resident Coordinator Hanaa also praised the Nepali Army’s outstanding leadership in United Nations peacekeeping during her meeting with General Sigdel.
“As the world’s top contributor, Nepali peacekeepers continue to set the standard for service, sacrifice, and commitment to global peace. Proud of Nepal’s enduring contribution to the UN’s peacekeeping mission,” Hanaa posted on her social media. Currently, the Nepali Army tops the peacekeeping deployment list.
