UNDP Empowers Youth in Pokhara Through Recycling and Upcycling Initiative

Kathmandu: Fifteen schools in Pokhara participated in a two-day Recycling and Upcycling (RU) Club Formation Workshop organized by UNDP Nepal under the KOICA-supported Green Job Creation through Recycling and Upcycling project, in collaboration with Doko Recyclers.

The workshop introduced students to waste segregation, upcycling, the 7R principles and the circular economy, while also enhancing leadership, teamwork and confidence. Each participating school developed action plans for their newly formed RU Clubs, encouraging students to take the lead in promoting sustainable practices within their schools and communities.

The initiative aims to empower youth as agents of change and strengthen Pokhara’s transition towards a more sustainable and circular future.
