UNDP, Global Fund Hold National Review Meeting to Strengthen TB Response in Nepal

Kathmandu: UNDP Nepal, in collaboration with the Global Fund, organized a two-day review meeting in Gandaki Province bringing together tuberculosis (TB) sub-recipients from all seven provinces, government counterparts, and partner organizations to assess progress in TB prevention, detection, and care across Nepal.

The meeting reviewed achievements, challenges, and key lessons from interventions on Drug-Susceptible (DS) TB, active case finding, and the management, care, and support of Drug-Resistant (DR) TB under the UNDP–Global Fund programme.

More than 45 participants from the Ministry of Health and Population, National Tuberculosis Control Centre (NTCC), Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM), UNDP, and partner organizations—including MPDS, BNMT, BWSN, JANTRA, TB Nepal, NATA, and The Union—took part in the discussions.

The review aimed to strengthen coordination among stakeholders and improve TB service delivery nationwide, with a focus on ensuring timely diagnosis, quality treatment, and sustained support for people affected by tuberculosis in Nepal.
