Kathmandu: A UNDP-supported Global Fund programme has facilitated a Community Rights and Gender (CRG) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) orientation for board members and staff of the Nepal Anti-Tuberculosis Association (NATA), aiming to strengthen rights-based tuberculosis (TB) care in Nepal.
The orientation focused on improving understanding of community rights, gender equality and GBV in the context of TB, while also strengthening institutional leadership and inclusive governance at both organizational and DR-TB hostel levels.
Participants were equipped with practical strategies to integrate rights-based and intersectional approaches into TB programmes, including CRG and GBV prevention efforts.
With clear follow-up actions identified, NATA aims to advance TB services that are safe, dignified and free from stigma, discrimination and gender-based violence.
