Kathmandu: The UNESCO Office in Kathmandu concluded a discussion with youth and content creators in Chitwan on November 20, 2025. The session provided an open platform for creators to share their motivations, challenges, and experiences within Nepal’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Participants reflected on the value of purpose-driven content, personal storytelling, and the responsibility creators hold toward their audiences and communities. They also raised concerns about online safety, harassment, misinformation, and the growing pressure to stay visible across multiple platforms.
Youth creators expressed strong interest in capacity-building opportunities, particularly in areas of digital well-being, ethical content creation, and platform literacy. During the event, UNESCO introduced its Content Creator Survey 2025, which was well received as an initiative to amplify youth voices and guide future program planning.
The discussion highlighted the need to empower young creators with the tools and support necessary to foster safer, more inclusive, and more responsible digital environments in Nepal.
