UNFPA Launches State of World Population Report 2025 in Nepal

KATHMANDU: The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) launched its flagship State of “World Population Report 2025” in Nepal, highlighting the impact of economic challenges, rising living costs, lack of childcare, and gender inequality on people’s ability to plan their families.

The report emphasizes that declining fertility rates are not just about numbers, but about ensuring people have the freedom and support to make reproductive choices.

UNFPA has called for greater investment in affordable healthcare, parental leave, flexible work environments, and gender equality to help unlock Nepal’s demographic potential and create a more supportive society for all.
