UNFPA Nepal implements the Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Programme

Kathmandu: For over six years, Switzerland proudly supported the Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Programme, alongside the Embassy of Norway, which is implemented by UNFPA Nepal in partnership with the Government of Nepal.

The programme has supported stronger referral pathways, improved access to essential services, enhanced multi-sectoral coordination, and increased government ownership at the federal, provincial, and local levels.

As the programme comes to a close, significant progress has been made in strengthening national systems and ensuring that women and girls affected by violence can access quality care, protection, and support.

These achievements were highlighted during the final Project Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting last week, where government partners and stakeholders reviewed progress, shared lessons learned, and discussed ways to sustain and build on these results in the years ahead.
