Kathmandu: Will Vaughn, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, formally handed over three US-funded solar charging trailers to Nepal’s Armed Police Force on September 2. The APF will deploy the trailers to provide reliable power in remote communities affected by the Bhote Koshi flood.
The trailers were provided through the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice. This support is in addition to the $3.6 million in disaster relief and humanitarian assistance the United States is providing to Nepal.
The US Embassy stated that they will continue to work closely with the Government of Nepal and partners to deliver assistance that responds directly to Nepal’s needs.
