US Ambassador Thompson Launches U.S. Tech Firm VEEL’s Office in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: The United States Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson, officially launched the U.S. technology company VEEL’s office in Kathmandu on December 9. Ambassador Thompson attended the launch event in Kathmandu, which was livestreamed in real time with VEEL’s team based in San Francisco.

Ambassador Thompson praised VEEL’s innovative work, noting that the platform equips content creators with cutting-edge tools, connects them with leading global brands, and supports U.S. and international companies in running creative and effective marketing campaigns. He highlighted that VEEL’s expansion creates new jobs and economic opportunities across both Nepal and the United States.

“The success of U.S. companies like VEEL in Nepal demonstrates how innovation and opportunity can go hand-in-hand, reinforcing the deep bonds between our two nations,” Ambassador Thompson said. He extended warm congratulations to VEEL CEO Dileep Dhakal and the entire team for their achievement and contribution to strengthening U.S.–Nepal business and technological collaboration.

Founded by Nepali-American entrepreneur Dhakal, Veel connects content creators with major global brands and provides tools that help American creators and U.S. and other global brands collaborate more effectively – enhancing profitability and influence. The company now employs staff in the United States and Nepal, and seeks to grow further.
