Kathmandu: US Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson and Peace Corps Nepal hosted a pre-holiday gathering bringing together officials from various Government of Nepal ministries and agencies to celebrate the upcoming year 2025 and discuss shared priorities.

The programme was attended by representatives from Tribhuvan University as well as provincial counterparts from Gandaki and Bagmati provinces. Discussions focused on continued cooperation and coordination ahead of the arrival of a new group of Peace Corps Volunteers next month.

The new volunteers will serve in the fields of agriculture, education, environment, and eco-tourism. Participants highlighted the importance of coordination to ensure smooth arrival, visa processing, and effective pre-service training for the volunteers.

Peace Corps has been working in Nepal since 1962, supporting community development through technical assistance, training, and collaboration with government institutions and local partners.
