Kathmandu: The U.S. Embassy in Nepal celebrated the 249th U.S. Independence Day with a special event attended by the Vice President of Nepal, Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, along with other distinguished delegates and guests.
July 4th marks the day the U.S. Declaration of Independence was signed and the United States of America was declared an independent nation.
“On America’s Independence Day, I’m reminded of the symbolism of our flag’s colors: red to honor sacrifice, white to reflect the purity of our principles, and blue for unwavering resolve and justice,” said Dean R. Thompson, the U.S. Ambassador to Nepal.
