Kathmandu: US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah B. Rogers has arrived in Nepal. In Nepal, Under Secretary Rogers will deliver the opening keynote address at Ascent Summit 2026 and meet with senior government officials, American Chamber of Commerce members, and U.S. program alumni, where she will advocate for freedom of expression and digital freedom as foundations for open societies and economic prosperity, the US embassy in Kathmandu said.
She will also visit the historic Patan Durbar Square and seven U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) sites to showcase the United States’ support for Nepal’s cultural heritage preservation and underscore U.S. commitment to protecting sites that remain central to Nepali community life, religious practice, and tourism economy.
